- From everything I have gathered, the following is what I perceive to be
- a POSSIBLE March '96 unveiling.
-
- 1) Re-Designed Motherboard
-
- a. Two Fast-RAM sockets (EDO Compliant?)
- b. 68EC030/40Mhz (Upgradeable to full 030)
- c. 68882 (FPU) socket
- d. Fast/Buffered Serial Port (Especially if they are going to push
- the Netster bundle! Can improve to 28.8 option then.)
-
- 2) Upgraded Paula Chip
-
- a. Allow for true double-spin High Density floppy drives!!
- b. Allow better through-put for 16-bit Audio. (Not sure of specifics
- on this point.)
-
- 3) House it in a Super-Mini Tower
-
- a. Lose the 'toy' (ala C= 64) look.
- b. Include at least one Zorro III slot above what the A1200 currently
- has.
-
- Now, for me personally, while I do see it as a good idea, Point #3 is not
- mandatory.
-
- On the other two points, however, anything less is not enough! Any further
- comments or 'realistic' suggestions would be great.
-
- What do you say Peter Kittel?? Is this pretty close to what your March
- Amiga will offer?
